Tour of Duty: Full-time. Incumbents may elect to work a compflex or flexitime work schedule. Promotion Potential: GS-7 Position Location: Binding Section, Binding and Collections Care Division Preservation Directorate, Library Services; James Madison Building Type of Appointment: Permanent, Non-supervisory, bargaining unit position. Brief description of duties: The incumbent works closely and collaboratively with other divisions in the Directorate to preserve all of the Library's collections from current and future use in a cost-effective manner. The Division is responsible for managing the Library's program for binding, repair, housing, and preparation of permanent research materials, with particular attention to materials in the general, reference, and Law collections. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants applying at the GS-5 level. Applicants must have at least 6 months of related specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal service or at a comparable level of difficulty outside the Federal service, performing library binding or shelf preparation; or must have successfully completed at least 4 years of undergraduate education. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSAs): The following KSAs have been identified as being important to the performance of this position at the GS-5 grade levels. The percentages in parenthesis indicate the relative importance of each KSA to this position. 1. Ability to operate online data systems (30%) 2. Ability to perform routine work with precision, patience, and attention to detail (10%) 3. Knowledge of bibliographic techniques and systems. (20 %) 4.
