Subject: Neolithic wood
The following is posted on behalf of Gioulika Zachariou Powder of dry wooden beams has been found in holes in the ground, of depth about 10-15 cm, in a prehistoric site in East Central Greece. What materials would anyone recommend for the consolidation and lifting of the powder from the holes? The properties required are good penetration, low viscosity, reversibility, slow drying and good adhesive strength. Tests have been made with Paraloid B-72 in acetone and Mowilith N 50 in action with unsuccessful results.
