Book Repair Technician Georgetown University Law Library The Georgetown University Law Library is seeking a full-time, temporary (6 months) book repair technician in the Conservation Department. The Conservation Technician is responsible for the physical care of the general library collection. Performs various book repair treatments and produces custom protective enclosures. Manages the flow of materials through the conservation lab to ensure that repairs and other treatments are completed properly and in a timely manner, and maintains databases and updates records to track materials. Trains and supervises the work of student assistants. Monitors the temperature and relative humidity of the library. Minimum qualifications: Two years of college and relevant book repair experience in a library or archives, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Conservation training preferred. Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Understanding of conservation principles, ethics and practices. PC, Windows, word processing and database knowledge.
