Textile Conservator - Period Appointment National Museums of Scotland The National Museums of Scotland are seeking a qualified and experienced textile conservator to work as part of a small team on the conservation of embroideries for a temporary exhibition 'Textile Treasures', which is due to open in November 2001. The post is within the Textile and Paper section of the Department of Conservation and Analytical Research. It will be based in the studios at the Royal Museum, Chambers Street, Edinburgh, although it is likely that some of the work will be carried out at the Granton Research Centre. Applicants should have a degree, or equivalent academic qualification, followed by a recognised qualification in textile conservation, and at least one to two years' relevant experience. They must have a high level of practical skill, be well organised and be able to work effectively and efficiently, with a minimum of supervision. The post is on a fixed term basis for a period of one year, starting in September 2000. Salary on appointment will be between UKP12,330 and UKP15,119 depending on qualifications and experience.
