Position at Swedish National Archives

From: Per Dahl <per.dahl>
Date: Tuesday, October 3, 2000
Senior Conservator
The Swedish National Archives

The Swedish National Archives has recently established a new
Department of Preservation, in order to concentrate the available
resources and competence in paper and seal conservation,
bookbinding, micrography, writing materials and building matters.
One of the main duties of the new department is to develop a
national preservation plan. We will also map and evaluate the
various methods now in use in the different branches of The National
Archives.

The Department of Preservation is looking for a Senior Conservator
with a wide experience of conservation and book-binding.

Experience of a team-oriented approach will be particularly valuable
as the Department will work in close cooperation with archivists and
other staff at The National Archives, mostly in projects of 1-2
years duration. You must know both how to make plans and how to put
them into action.

The Senior Conservator must have a degree from a recognized
conservation program and a wide experience of other areas within the
department's field of activities. Computer literacy, preferably with
some experience of database administration will also help. Ability
to write good reports is essential.

The position has been vacant for several years and the Director is
recently appointed (1st July), so you will get a fresh start!

Closing date for applications: 31th of October, 2000.
