Designing a conservation facility

At the National University of Singapore we are building a new museum
with it a conservation department. I have been given the task of
equipping this department for restoration of paper, metal and
ceramics.

The paper and metal areas will be equipped for guest conservators
(I'm specialised in ceramics).

My question to you as conservator of paper or metals: What kind of
equipment do you use? Any related information is welcome, like what
chemicals, tools, etc.
