Description: This one-day conference will address issues relating to
scaffolding used on historic building projects. Participants in the
conference will have an opportunity through case study lectures to
gain knowledge of scaffolding design, access, and construction in
the conservation of historic buildings and monuments. The course
will examine scaffolding systems and their regulations, standards,
and safety issues. Participants will examine techniques for
attachments to historic fabric and distributing imposed loads of
scaffolding on historic structures. Experts will present case
studies of scaffolding solutions for both monumental and small
projects, and will discuss the risk of scaffold failures.
