I too have tried to get further information about the Swiffer cloths
from P&G, but my inquiry was related to static charge. I asked them
if the cloths produced a static charge (thereby encouraging future
dust accumulation) or if the cloths neutralized static electricity
(thereby reducing dust attraction). I was not able to get a
satisfactory answer from the customer service department. Supposedly
the person I spoke with referred my inquiry to the research and
development department, but I never heard back from the company
after their initial call back. Other companies are making similar
cloths now, so perhaps you may be able to get more answers from one
of the competing companies since they are trying to gain additional
market share. Pledge Grab-it cloths made by SE Johnson are
Swiffer's main competitor.
