Move Conservator Carnegie Museum of Art The Carnegie Museum of Art is seeking a Move Conservator for the Conservation department. The primary function of this position is attending the day to day conservation aspects of the upcoming move of collections from storage and galleries to temporary locations. This will be a temporary, full-time position lasting about two years. The salary range will be between 23-27K depending upon qualifications. Candidates should have a degree from an accredited conservation training program or equivalent experience, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. Specialization in objects conservation preferred, museum and collection move experience is desirable. Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Interpreting survey data to make decisions about handling, packaging, environmental requirements and treatment of works of art involved in the move. Performing additional surveys to gather data for decision-making purposes. Training technicians and other staff involved with the move to maximize the safety of collections during the move. Designing and ordering material to create containers and packages for storage of art. Overseeing the actual move.
