Subject: Conference on maintenance of contemporary public art
The following is posted for Hafthor Yngvason, Director, Cambridge Arts Council, Cambridge, MA: The schedule and registration materials for the Cambridge Arts Council's conference on the Conservation and Maintenance of Contemporary Public Art have been posted at <URL:http://www.ci.cambridge.ma.us/~CAC/publicart/conference.html> The conference will take place on October 26-28, 2001 at the Sackler Museum at Harvard University. We have a great list of speakers, including Judy Baca, John Carr, Patricia Fuller, Patricia Phillips, Mierle Lademan Ukeles, Glenn Wharton, and some 20 other artists, conservators, and public art administrators (their bios can be found on the web site). I hope you join will us for the discussion, for we all need to help shape the future of public art conservation. There is limited space available so please register early. Also, please remember that Boston is a popular tourist destination in October because of the fall foliage (which we will certainly see on the Sunday trip to DeCordova Sculpture Park) so, again, try to register early.
