Paper conservator Dick Peddie and McKay Collection Project Salary range UKP13,000 - UKP23,381 (F grade) Applications are invited for the fixed term appointment of a paper conservator for the Dick Peddie and McKay Drawings Collection Project within the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland <URL:http://www.rcahms.gov.uk>. The project aims to catalogue and conserve this collection of architects' papers for the National Monuments Record of Scotland and is sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund. RCAHMS is a public body that compiles and maintains the national collection of architectural and archaeological archives of Scotland in the NMRS. RCAHMS provides a challenging and stimulating working environment, committed to public accessibility and service. This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months, renewable for up to 3 years. Starting salary will depend on qualifications and experience. RCAHMS is an equal opportunities employer and operates a no-smoking policy within its building. The successful candidate should have a qualification/degree in archive or paper conservation and relevant practical experience (a minimum of 2 years is desirable). You will be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently, undertaking a detailed paper conservation programme. Communications skills are essential, both orally and in writing, as well as good inter-personal skills. Familiarity with information technology is also advantageous.
