Subject: Educational opportunities in stone conservation sought
I have been approached via email by an Egyptian stone conservator, currently working as a demonstrator in the faculty of arts in the department of restoration and conservation of monuments at South Valley University, Qena, Egypt. He would like to continue to study in the field of restoration and conservation of stone, specialising in sandstone monuments, possibly in Italy, as he speaks some Italian. He has asked me if I can provide any information about funding and scholarships in this field, but as I am a paintings conservator there is very little I can tell him. I have suggested a number of web sites and organisations to contact, but if there is any specific information stone conservators can give me, I would be very grateful and would pass it on. *** Conservation DistList Instance 15:32 Distributed: Tuesday, October 16, 2001 Message Id: cdl-15-32-017 ***Received on Thursday, 11 October, 2001
