Call for papers: Unusual Materials UKIC Ethnography Section Unusual Materials Seminar and AGM Oxford 15 April 2002 The next UKIC Ethnography Section 1 day Seminar will be on Unusual Materials: e.g. sponge garments, insect wings, spiders silk, human hair, pith, sand paintings, coral, baleen, teeth, claws, bird beaks or fishskin which can be found in ethnographic artefacts. Papers are welcomed on the use, investigation and analysis, storage, collection care and conservation of unusual materials as well as ethical and anthropological issues surrounding them.
