Subject: Seminar on conservation surveys
Following yesterday's informal seminar at the Museum of Scotland on the subject of condition surveys in conservation and preservation (excluding buildings), there have been many expressions of interest in a one-day follow-up event. This will delve deeper into the issues; look at more models; more applications, and present warts-and-all case studies. The main emphasis will be on the usefulness of the generated data. The seminar will be organised by the Scottish Society for Conservation and Restoration (SSCR) and the National Museums of Scotland, Edinburgh, and is provisionally scheduled for January 2002. Full details will be posted on the DistList, the NCCR web site and in the printed conservation publications.
