What can you safely do to protect your collection?  How do
conservators view the issue of cleaning daguerreotypes? These
questions and more will be addressed in the program, "Caring for
your Daguerreotypes" at the Chester County Historical Society on
Saturday November 17 at 1:00 p.m.

Barbara Lemmen, Conservator from the Conservation Center for Art and
Historic Artifacts of Philadelphia will demonstrate proper care for
your collections. Appropriate housing, display, reproduction and
conservation will also be addressed in this informative slide
presentation. This is a rare opportunity for professionals and
collectors to become better informed about daguerreotype

is $10.00 for CCHS members and $15.00 for non-members.

Also on view is the exhibition The Daguerreotype: Portraiture at the
Dawn of Photography that explores the technical developments and
social customs involved in the birth of this new portrait medium.
