Subject: Stains on sepia-toned prints
I am seeking advice on possible causes of pink staining across the image area of a sepia-toned image on fibre based paper. Our records indicate that the image, one of two made contemporaneously of the same image, was made on Ilford fibre-based paper in the early 1970's. Both images were sepia-toned, we believe using the standard Kodak hypo alum toner T-1a. Both have been stored in the same solander box under museum conditions since acquisition soon after making. One of the images exhibits a distinct pink tone uniformly across the whole of the image area.
