Subject: Source for post binders
I need some hardware so I can use a supply of old post binders for our records/archives. These binders are used to hold reduced engineering drawings, and are useless without the metal posts. The binder boards are 21" x 13", and were actually made by the Prison Industry Authority here in California around 30 years ago. They indicated that they no longer make anything like that, and they no longer have any of the posts in stock. Our office has, among other records, a lot of reduced engineering drawings that we store in binders of two sorts: Accopress and these old cloth binders. I am the person nominally in charge of these things I am aware that this request may be a bit off-topic, but I thought that someone on this list might know where I can get these things. The posts I need are solid metal cylinders, with a narrower stud at one end, and a threaded hole at the other end, and they screw into holes in the binder ends. I think these posts have not been made for a long time: +30 years? I do have a supply of these posts, but they are the wrong size for the binder covers we have: the studs are too big for the holes in the binder covers. I had thought that the studs only cam in one size, but learned, to my dismay, that they do not.
