Subject: Storage cases available
There will shortly be made available, free, "to a good home" 8 heavy-gauge steel storage cases for rolled-up drawings (and other things that can be rolled up without damaging them), made a *long* time ago by "Hamilton Manufacturing Company", of Twin Falls, Minnesota. Dimensions of cases: Height Width Depth 15 1/2" 55 /14" 44 1/2" Drawers: 130: 5 high X 26 wide Dimensions of drawers: Height Width Depth 1 3/4" 1 3/4" 43" Made of: steel: 1/32" thick, enameled gray. In excellent condition. As far as I know, no one in the world makes storage cases like these--with pull-out drawers--for rolled-up drawings. They are in almost perfect condition. I am letting you folks know this because these storage cases are unique, and would be perfect storage cases for people who need something in which to store rolled-up drawings, or other items. These cases are much better than the rather unsatisfactory storage cases made nowadays to store rolled-up drawings. (Hamilton Manufacturing Company no longer makes these cases--if the company doing business under that name is the company that actually used to make these wonderful storage cases.) These 8 storage cases are now surplus. They are the property of the California Department of Transportation, and will be offered first to state agencies here in California. Storage cases left unclaimed by state agencies will next be offered to non-profit, tax-exempt organizations that qualify to be on a list. I am sending this notice out so that you will have a chance to acquire these unique, very useful storage cases for your organization. You will need to fill out a 10-page form. I was told that not all non-profit, tax-exempt organizations will qualify to be on this list. It is worth your while to try to be placed on this list, because such organizations that qualify will be allowed to acquire items before the general public is allowed to take them. If your organization does *not* qualify, you can still go to the site with the general public, and have a chance to get some very useful, unique storage cases. To place your organization on the official State of California Surplus Property list, please contact: Dottie Ibach 916-928-4639 dottie.ibach [at] dgs__ca__gov (Please note: Dottie pronounces her last name "Eye-Baw") Mailing address: Dottie Ibach California Department of General Services Property Re-Use Program 1700 National Drive Sacramento CA 95834-1965 I have no idea how long it takes to get onto the official surplus list, but it is well worth the effort. I also have no idea whether or not anyone in any state department would have any use for these cases. I just wanted to let all of you know that these wonderful cases will be available to qualifying organizations after a while, so that you would have a chance to get the paperwork done in time to qualify to acquire these cases before they are offered to the general public.
