Environment: the key to pest management Society of Archivists One Day Course Society of Archivists: Preservation and Conservation Group City of Westminster Archives, London February 27, 2002 Registration begins at 9.00. Sessions will start at 9.30, and finish at 16.30. This course is aimed at anyone with any involvement with, or responsibility for care of, archives and collections. Course tutor: David Pinniger, Independent Consultant Entomologist David advises museums, historic properties and local authorities and is involved with the development of insect detection and alternatives to pesticides for the control of pests. He is the pest management strategy adviser for English Heritage and many of the major UK museums. He also lectures on problems of insect pests in public health, food and museum collections and is an Honorary Lecturer at Leicester University. He has presented papers at many UK and international conferences and is the author of over 35 papers and publications including "Integrated pest management"(MGC). Course objectives a. Understanding pest environments b. Carrying out a practical survey c.
