Subject: Bird eggs
I have been asked by a museum for information about suppliers of rayon wool or the high grade surgical cotton wool commonly used in storing collections of birds' eggs. I understand that Rank Xerox, who used to supply rayon wool, no longer do so and I have been unable to locate other suitable suppliers. The collection also has to be moved offsite whilst building work is undertaken and then returned to the museum at a later date. Any information and advice regarding the removal and storage of a collection of this type, together with suppliers details for any materials recommended would be greatly appreciated.
