Preservation Technologies purchases Archimascon

From: Robert Strauss <strauss>
Date: Friday, February 8, 2002
Pittsburgh-based Preservation Technologies purchased Archimascon,
its European licensee for the Bookkeeper deacidification process.
This allows Preservation Technologies to more easily serve libraries
and archives throughout Europe. Located in the Netherlands,
Archimascon also specializes in technology for recovering
water-damaged books and papers by freeze-drying. Archimascon will be
renamed Preservation Technologies B.V.

Both companies provide preservation services to libraries and
archives. Preservation Technologies' main processing facility in
Cranberry Township near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is the largest
operation of its kind, and serves major research libraries
throughout North America. Preservation Technologies' B.V. clients
are primarily located in the Benelux region of Europe, Germany, and
France and include the Royal Library of the Netherlands, the Dutch
National Archives, and many regional libraries and archives.
