Subject: Call for papers--Digital printing
Call for Papers Following the successful conference on this subject held jointly by the London Institute and the Institute of Physics at the Institute of Physics in October 2000, we are staging a second two-day conference which will also be held at the Institute of Physics in London, April 3-4, 2003. This conference will examine progress in research on inks, substrates and processes used in digital printing and photographs for archival storage. As well as digitally printed materials from the world of fine arts, the growth of digital photography is now introducing new media into collections and archives. The aims of this conference are to inform those responsible for the preservation of digitally printed material about developments in digital photography and printing technologies, the progress in research on inks and substrates and their significance for conservation and preservation issues. As with the last conference, our aim is to develop links between industry and the preservation world. Substrates to be covered include textiles, papers, and plastics. Developments in testing and standards for lightfastness will also be examined. Technical and research papers, plus poster presentations, on this topic are invited. There will also be a trade exhibition.
