2002 Summer Internship in Conservation Milwaukee Public Museum The Conservation Lab of the Milwaukee Public Museum is offering a summer internship for a student interested in gaining practical and professional experience in a natural history museum. The Museum has a busy exhibition schedule and one of the primary responsibilities of the intern will be to work with Museum Conservators in all aspects involved in preparing a collections for scheduled in-house exhibits and out-going loans. In addition to exhibition and loan work, a variety of conservation projects are available that can be tailored to the specific interests of the intern. Examples of possible projects include: * condition survey of approximately 100 WPA paintings * condition survey of the Mollusk collection * re-house Blashka glass models of invertebrate specimens Projects involving a student's particular interests may also be accommodated.
