Conservation Technician Internship Conservation Solutions, Inc. Conservation Solutions, Inc. (CSI) is looking for an historic preservation or art conservation student to fill a summer conservation internship position. CSI is a rapidly growing international conservation firm dedicated to the conservation of monuments, sculpture, historic structures, and industrial artifacts. The position will require some travel throughout the United States, paid for by CSI. The ideal candidate will be someone who has some hands-on experience either in the conservation field or in the arts as an artist and has a burning desire to learn. The candidate should be willing to perform a variety of skilled and unskilled labor such as masonry and stone repair; general stone cleaning and repairs; welding and/or repair of bronze; corrosion removal from bronze and steel substrates using water jets and other blasting techniques; application of artistic patinas on bronze substrates; application and removal of protective barrier coatings including hot and cold waxes, pigmented waxes, and other protective and decorative finishes; documenting the projects by written and photographic means; rigging sculptures; and unloading/loading trucks.
