Assistant Conservator of Objects Cincinnati Art Museum The Cincinnati Art Museum seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Conservator of Objects. Working under the Chief Conservator the Assistant Conservator of Objects will have responsibility for the preservation and care of the Museum's permanent collection, works of art on loan and works of art included in temporary exhibitions. Candidates should have a specialization in general objects conservation as well as a demonstrated knowledge of the diverse factors pertaining to the preservation of works of art from a range of categories such as: sculpture, ethnographic materials, objects of antiquity and decorative arts. This includes objects of both organic and inorganic composition, including metal, wood, stone, ceramic, glass, bone and other materials. The Assistant Conservator of Objects will work in collaboration with other Museum staff to devise and implement strategies and procedures for conservation. Qualifications: Master's Degree from a recognized art conservation program; previous experience as museum conservator preferred. Competitive salary and benefits.
