Perfect Support: Soft Body Padding to Create the Ideal Shape A three day workshop on preparing mannequins for the display of historic dress organised by Historic Royal Palaces Textile Conservation Studios Hampton Court Palace London, UK UKIC Textile Section October 2-4, 2002 Historic Royal Palaces are responsible for the care, preservation and display of the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, housed at Kensington Palace, London. As part of a large team involving curators, conservation housekeepers, designers and surveyors the Textile Conservation Studios have been involved in the display of the collections' historic dress over the last eight years. This workshop is aimed at people who have a limited experience at preparing mannequins for a costume display. It is geared to providing the participants with a range of useful practical information and techniques that have worked well in the long term in our displays and which the participants can adapt to their particular situation.
