Assistant Conservator of Furniture - 6 Month Contract National Museums of Scotland <URL:http://www.nms.ac.uk> This post, which is a casual contract within the Engineering and Furniture Section of the Department of Conservation and Analytical Research, is based at the Granton Centre, Edinburgh. The contract is for six months, based on an annual salary of between UKP12,823 and UKP15,607 depending on qualifications and experience We are seeking a qualified and experienced conservator to assist our full-time furniture conservator to work on wooden artefacts in the collections of the National Museums of Scotland. You should have a degree or academic qualification followed by a recognised qualification in conservation demonstrating a particular knowledge of furniture; or excellent craft skills and at least two years relevant conservation experience. Your excellent practical skills must be combined with self motivation, organisation and ability to work effectively and efficiently without supervision. You must hold a current driving licence and be prepared to drive museum transport when moving objects in the collection.
