Assistant or Associate Conservator Arizona State Museum Applicants are invited for a full-time faculty appointment to the Arizona State Museum at the University of Arizona <URL:http://www.statemuseum.arizona.edu> effective July 1, 2002. The incumbent works in conjunction with the conservator with primary responsibility directed to preservation of the museum's collections. Additional duties include supervising students in practical conservation and lecturing. High quality scholarly and scientific research and publications are expected. As part of a university unit, the museum conservators also collaborate with programs involving the departments of Materials Science, Anthropology, Architecture, Chemistry, Art, and the Library. The successful candidate will hold a master's degree with specialization in conservation; OR, Certificate from a recognized Conservation Program with verifiable conservation experience. Experience with teaching, research, and service programs, and experience with issues regarding Native American material culture, archaeology and preventive conservation is preferred. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
