Disaster Management Training Day University of Dundee Thursday May 16th 2002 Helene M Donnelly of the Data and Archival Damage Control Centre will be presenting a one day workshop on disaster management. The aim is to give individuals confidence and responsibility for their disaster plan: To increase confidence in making decisions and take the necessary preliminary actions in the event of a flood or fire incident and be able to share their knowledge with other staff members. To create practical procedures for damaged library/archive materials that will enable effective action and a better understanding of the health and safety issues relating to water borne contaminants. To improve the understanding of the communication needed for effective action. Ownership, input, understanding and implementation of changes to an existing Disaster Plan. The day will include a "Virtual Flood Simulation". There will be light refreshments but lunch will not be provided. The day will begin at 9:30 am and end at 4:15 pm. Cost per participant 150.00 pounds sterling. Course notes will be provided.
