Paintings conservator Sverresborg, Trondelag Folkmuseum Trondheim, Norway Deadline for applications: May 31th 2002 Pending approval from the board of directors there will be a position available at Sverresborg, Trondelag Folkmuseum as Paintings conservator. The position will cover both preventive and hands-on conservation. You will be expected to carry out investigative work, conservation, restoration and documentation of painted surfaces on interiors as well as paintings. The majority of the work will be on the museums collections. Applicants must have a minimum of three years approved conservation training within conservation of painted surfaces and paintings and a minimum of one year of experience. The position will have duties within exhibition, loans and storage, and will be expected to advise and do contract work for other museums in the region. We are looking for a person with experience from both hands-on and preventive conservation. The applicant must be able to work well both individually and as a part of a team. You must be dependable, thorough and result orientated. A certain amount of traveling in the region might be expected so you must hold a valid drivers license. The applicant must also be willing to learn Norwegian. Salary follows union and state regulations.
