The Shelburne Museum is offering a one-year advanced internship in
objects conservation supported by an IMLS Conservation Project

repairs, cleaning of overpaint and dirt from surfaces, and
compensating areas of loss. A wide range of artifacts are
represented in the miniature interiors, including ceramics and
glass, base metals, furniture, paper, photographs, textiles, and a
surprising array of other organic materials. The intern will modify
the vitrines that contain miniature interior so they are dust-tight

preventive conservation actions appropriate for the Hat and
Fragrance Unit that houses the dollhouses and miniature interiors
and assist with such actions as appropriate, including: mocking-up
and evaluating new lighting systems, monitoring environmental
conditions, and implementing fire detection and suppression
upgrades. The intern will conduct practical research that informs
conservation treatments, and contribute to Shelburne's public
outreach program.

Conservation plus a Certificate of Advanced Study beyond a Masters
Degree or equivalent training, and a minimum of one year

good communication skills, be adaptable, and work well as a team
member.

Salary and Benefits: $28,000/year plus benefits, travel, relocation
allowance, and on-site housing.

Application: Send letter of application, resume, and list of
