Conservator of stone and porous materials National Heritage Board, Stockholm The National Heritage Board, Conservation Department, Buildings and stonework division, Stockholm, Sweden has an open position for a conservator specialised on stone and porous materials. The National Heritage Board is the central government administrative agency for conservation of cultural and historical monuments in Sweden. The Conservation department is the central source of knowledge for conservation and restoration. The Department co-operates primarily with the county administrative boards, county and local museums and undertake commissions from parish authorities. We are looking for an experienced conservator, specialised on stone and porous material for a deputy-ship for the period of June 2002 to June 2003. You should have a bachelors degree in conservation, have experience of, and be interested in research and development issues within the field. Experience and knowledge of materials closely related to stone, such as concrete, bricks and plaster is a qualification. You should have power of initiative, be responsible and be able to work within a group as well as more independent. Knowledge of Swedish or other scandinavian languages is a qualification.
