Mutilation, Damage, Despair and Repair Library Collections Conservation Discussion Group AIC 2002, Miami. Monday, June 10 Location to be announced 2-3:30pm Participants will discuss their experiences dealing with mutilated and damaged materials in their collections, policies and procedures they have developed to prevent mutilation of library materials, and techniques for returning damaged items to a usable state. We will highlight methods of creating replacement pages by photocopying and by scanning, and explore the relationship between conservation efforts and the services provided by Inter Library Loan departments. LCCDG participants are encouraged to send or bring slides of examples of mutilation problems and/or solutions to stimulate discussion and problem solving. Ethel E.
