Conservator of works of art on paper Museum Conservation Services Ltd Museum Conservation Services Ltd <URL:http://paperconservation.co.uk/>has a vacancy for a conservator specialising in works of art on paper. We are seeking a paper conservator with a relevant qualification and ideally some post-qualification experience. Our studio was originally set up twenty-five years ago as part of a regional museum service. We were refounded as a private company in 1995. We continue to work almost exclusively for museums/public institutions and to museum standards. Thus experience within a museum would be an advantage. The successful candidate will work alongside four other conservators in our spacious and superbly equipped conservation studio situated in Cambridge, England. We are looking for a 'bench conservator' who is happy to be mainly involved in practical conservation work. The work is varied, interesting and at times challenging. The range of material includes watercolours, drawings, prints, pastels and manuscript maps. The studio also undertakes some work on historic photographs and occasionally on archives. Site visits for survey/advisory work may also be required. Motivation and commitment are essential. The post is full time with an initial contract of one and a half years (extendable).
