Storage Co-ordinator Conservation Officer Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is currently undertaking a major storage relocation project and seeks applicants for the following temporary posts: Storage Co-ordinator 2 year temporary contract, Grade PO2 UKP 23,451-25,475 Ref. 18/394 The Storage Co-ordinator will co-ordinate the rationalisation of collections, their packing, movement and relocation from the former Museum of Science and Industry, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and two off-site stores, to a new store. Applicants must have experience of working on a rationalisation or relocation project and a knowledge of science collections. Equally important, applicants must possess good organisational and communication skills and be able to work to tight deadlines. IT skills and an understanding of preventive conservation issues are essential. Conservation Officer 6 month temporary contract, Grade SO1 UKP 19,770-21,078 (pro rata) Ref. 18/395 The Conservation Officer will supervise the packing and movement of the science collections, undertake improvements to environmental conditions for stored collections and assist with preventive and remedial conservation across the Service. Applicants must have a recognised qualification in conservation, a broad knowledge of a range of materials and at least three years' relevant practical experience. Equally important, applicants must possess good organisational and communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
