Subject: Lubricating microfilm cabinet drawers
**** Moderator's comments: This query comes from a person who is not on the DistList and will not see any responses that are posted here. Please respond directly to sender and if of general interest post it here as well In the Reference Library, we have silver halide acetate microfilm film that is stored in large cabinet drawers. The drawers are beginning to stick and squeak. I was asked to find out if it would be possible to lubricate the sides of the drawers without damaging the film. The lubricant would not touch the film boxes but I was concerned about the possibility of the lubricant off-gassing. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions that could help?
