Assistant Frame/Gilded Objects Conservator

    The Peebles Island Resource Center seeks candidates for the
    position of Assistant Painting Conservator. Working under the
    direct supervision of the Peebles Island Resource Center
    Painting Conservator, the assistant conservator will examine,
    document, and treat paintings from the New York State Historic
    Sites and other state agencies. This will include assisting
    staff in carrying out preventive conservation measures. All work
    will be conducted in accordance with the American Institute for
    Conservation's Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice.

    Minimum Qualifications: BA in Art History, Chemistry or Studio
    Art and at least one year of full time paid experience in a
    painting conservation lab. An MA in conservation is desirable
    but not required.

    Term: appointment will be for one year with possible extension
    for two additional years.

    Salary: $36,000 plus generous state benefit package

    position of Assistant Frame/Gilded Objects Conservator. Working
    under the direct supervision of the Peebles Island Resource
    Center Frame/Gilded Objects Conservator, the assistant
    conservator will examine, document, and treat frames from the
    New York State Historic Sites and other state agencies. This
    will also include assisting staff in carrying out preventive
    conservation measures. All work will be conducted in accordance
