Subject: Symposium on disasters
The Ohio Preservation Council will be hosting its second symposium of the year Disaster Response and Recovery The Fawcett Center 2400 Olentangy River Road Columbus, Ohio. Thursday, September 19, 2002 9:30 am to 3:30 pm Registration begins at 9:00 AM. This symposium serves as a follow-up to the May 17th session on Disaster Planning and Preparedness held at the Fawcett. The focus of the September program is to instruct attendees in the basics of a timely and systematic response and recovery approach for large- and small-scale emergencies that may threaten paper, photographs, magnetic, and electronic collections. The program will be presented by Ms. Lori Foley, Field Service Representative for the Northeast Document Conservation Center in Andover, Mass. and Mr. Tom Clareson, Digital and Preservation Co-Op Manager at OCLC. Cost for the symposium will be $40.00 for non-OPC members and $25.00 for OPC members. This will include instructional materials and a boxed lunch.
