Subject: Call for papers--AIC Electronic Media Group
The Electronic Media Group (EMG) is accepting proposals for papers to be presented at the American Institute for Conservation's next annual meeting to take place June 5-10, 2003 in Arlington, Virginia. Papers pertaining to one or more of the following topics are invited: * The preservation of historic records and/or artistic works in electronic form * The use of digital technologies to enhance conservation practice or preservation activities * The impact of new media and digital technologies on cultural heritage institutions' preservation and conservation programs * Digital imaging * Digital reformatting of sound recordings and/or moving image works * The study of electronic media and its longevity * Benchmarking methods for measuring the quality of reformatted/migrated electronic works * Best practices for documenting the preservation of electronic works * Collaborative initiatives or projects relevant to any of the aforementioned topics. Papers by students are especially encouraged.
