Fellowship Organic chemist/conservation scientist Institute for Chemical Technologies and Analytics Vienna University of Technology At the Institute for Chemical Technologies and Analytics at the Vienna University of Technology the position of a chemist or conservation scientist is available: Within a project funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), analytical investigations will be carried out dealing with the chemical ageing processes of natural organic binding media in works of art. Techniques employed will be GC, GC/MS and FTIR microscopy. The position includes a full time employment and enables the attainment of a PhD degree. The applicant should have a master degree in organic chemistry, preferably analytical chemistry, and should ideally have some experience in the field of organic analysis of historic binding media in works of art. Experience in GC, GC-MS, Py-GC-MS and FTIR is also desirable.
