Conservator: Paper and Preventative Art Gallery of Western Australia - Art Services, in the Department of Culture and the Arts G41002L4, Permanent, Full time, Level 4, $44 613- $47 150pa Location: Perth Cultural Centre The Art Gallery of Western Australia has occupied a central place in the cultural life of the State for more than a century. Its aim is to develop and present the best public art collection in the State and the pre-eminent collection of Western Australian Art. Job Description: Plan and implement a program for the conservation treatment of works of art on paper to meet the Gallery program. Participate in the development of policies, implement programs and strategies regarding storage, exhibitions, handling and building services to ensure the maximum protection of the State art collection. Selection Criteria: Essential: Tertiary qualification in conservation of cultural materials with a speciality in paper conservation or practical equivalent experience working in the heritage industry providing eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Institute of Conservation of Cultural Materials.
