The 3rd Washington Conservation Guild meeting of the 2002-2003 season will be held Thursday, December 5th at the National Trust for Historic Preservation. This will be the return of our great Holiday wine tasting party and there will be four conservation spoof talks ; The titles are: "Make it Flat, Make It Shine, and Make It Fit the Frame: A Case Study of Restoration Methods from the F.D. Kalley Collection" Presented by Clarke Bedford, Conservator of Paintings and Mixed Media Objects, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden "Industrial Shrink Wrap Technology in the Preservation of Macroartifacts" Presented by Jeff Kimball, Chief Conservator, Army Museum System, U.S. Army Center of Military History "Collaboration and Consultation to Develop a Standard Ethical and Responsible Approach to Treatment for a Small, Indigenous, North American Composite Animal in the Collections of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian, Cultural Resources Center, Suitland, MD" Presented by Jessica Johnson and Kelly McHugh, Conservators of Objects at the National Museum of the American Indian,Cultural Resources Center "Healing the Whole Object: Alternative Conservation for the New Age" Presented by Landis Smith, Private Practice, Silver Spring, MD.
