Wood fillers

I just though about something else to fill the wood checks: bee wax.

I have used it as a brute brick, soften up with heat. I have painted
over with verneer (polyurethane verneer) and it is holding well
since (2 years, indoors). This ought to be easily reversible and
have been traditionally used in Brazil before the PVA fillers came
to the stores. Maybe you should give it a try.
