Subject: Karsten tube tests on sandstone
Jim Mann <jmann [at] amdel__com> writes >I'm after suggestions for methods of fixing a Karsten tube apparatus >to a weathered (but flat) historic sandstone face that will leave >minimal trace (preferably none) after testing--any ring stains left >behind will be quite conspicuous. There is a polish modification of the Karsten tube, the so called Mirowsky tube, witch is more suitable for sensitive surfaces. The stone is only touched by a little sponge, the tube itself is fixed to a tripod or the scaffolding.
