Fontainebleau, Paris, France
Jan 29-30, 2003

ERPANET <URL:http://www.erpanet.org> is pleased to announce its
second training seminar, "Policies for Digital Preservation". It
will equip participants with the skills to develop and implement
digital preservation policies.

This two day training session, co-hosted by the Archives de France,
will be held in Fontainebleau (near Paris) on January 29-30, 2003.

Seminar Focus

    * Experience surrounding policies for digital preservation
    *   Designing policies
    *   Building policies
    * Evaluating the impact of digital preservation policies

Format: After reviewing the need and urgency for digital
preservation policies and their organisational context, the key
points of developing a digital preservation policy will be
presented. The second day will focus on digital preservation
policies, their impact on organisations, and how to measure their
effectiveness.

Who Will Benefit from Attending: The topics presented in this
seminar are crucial to both commercial and public sector
organisations. It targets management and personnel responsible for
the retention of digital assets including records managers,
archivists, technologists, auditors, and senior business managers.

corporate buy-in to a digital preservation policy, the seminar
provides participants with the insight necessary to carry out such
development and implementation work within their own organisations.
