Publication on conservation of contemporary art

From: Cathy Daly <conservation>
Date: Tuesday, December 17, 2002
Compiled by Claire Gogarty and Zoe Reid, compilers. Post Prints
of Contemporary Art: Creation, Curation, Collection and
Conservation. Proceedings of Conference held at the Irish Museum
of Modern Art by IPCRA (Irish Professional Conservators and
    Restorers Association), September 21-22, 2001.

This conference brought together conservators, artists, curators,
collectors, art dealers and the interested public to consider the
issues surrounding the use of the new materials and practices in
contemporary art.

>From film, plastics and media deliberately chosen to be perishable,
to the salvaged materials of "Outsider " artists, the use of new
and unconventional media provides an aesthetic and ethical
challenge, to artists, collectors, conservators and audiences alike.
The post prints include 11 of the papers given over the two days
proceedings, 70 pages with 10 pages of full colour accompanying
illustrations.
