Subject: Exhibition labels
For an upcoming exhibition it has been proposed that the exhibition labels be silk-screened onto the inside of the lexan glazing of the display case. Does anyone know if off-gassing from silk-screened labels could harm the objects on display (all of them are black and white gelatin silver photographs, a few with collaged elements added)? Would any particular products be more or less harmful? If silkscreen labels can be used inside vitrines, how far in advance must they be applied?
