Subject: Internship at Shelburne Farms
2004 Summer Internship Shelburne Farms, a National Historic Landmark and non-profit environmental education organization located on the shores of Lake Champlain in Vermont, is offering an eight-week summer internship. The intern will assist with a detailed survey of Shelburne Farms' historic blueprint collection that numbers over 800 and in this capacity will serve an active role in the documentation, condition, assessment, and stabilization/minor treatment (including flattening and/or rehousing) of the collection. The intern will receive training in condition assessment and report preparation as well as conservation treatment and work closely with the curator of collections in the Archives at Shelburne House. A stipend of $3,000 will be provided. Students currently enrolled in graduate programs in conservation, historic preservation, or related programs are encouraged to apply.
