Conservator for Exhibitions National Gallery of Victoria Salary Range: VPS3 $43,282pa + 9% superannuation Fixed term: Initially 12 months This is a rare opportunity to join the Conservation Department of the National Gallery of Victoria in a period of exciting change. We are Australia's oldest and pre-eminent public art gallery and possess what is generally acknowledged as the most outstanding collection of fine art in the region and one that ranks with major collections throughout the world. Applications are invited for the position of Conservator for Exhibitions at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Australia. This position is part of at two-person team led by the Senior Conservator for Exhibitions. This team is responsible for rigorous examination and documentation of artworks in a wide range of media to support the Gallery's busy exhibition schedule. We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Conservator of Exhibitions. Applicants must have a tertiary qualification from a recognised art conservation training programme or equivalent including appropriate experience working in examination and treatment of artworks in some media. To be considered for this role you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a team and the ability to meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
