The RESTORE Two-Semester Course on Masonry Conservation will begin on Tuesday, October 26, 2004. The RESTORE Class meets on Tuesday evenings, from 6-8 p.m., from October through May at the Donnell Library, 20 West 53rd Street, New York, NY. The RESTORE Course on Masonry Conservation addresses a wide range of technical issues concerning materials and treatments. This knowledge not only is important to the preservation and maintenance of existing buildings, but also applies to the design and construction of new structures. Participants in the RESTORE Two Semester Course include a cross section of design professionals, craftworkers, contractors, cultural resource and facilities managers, architectural conservators and preservationists. RESTORE equips everyone on the jobsite to handle the complex preservation / conservation problems they encounter daily in the field. Tuition for the RESTORE Two-Semester Course on Masonry Conservation is $1,500, which includes lab fees, course materials and the RESTORE Conservation Workbook. Graduates of the RESTORE Two-Semester Course receive 50 AIA Continuing Education Learning Units, 6 of which qualify for AIA Health, Safety, Welfare credits.
